• What Can We Expect at Exhibitions Day 2019?

Trade shows, exhibitions, conventions, and other face-to-face gatherings are major commerce channels for the United States. In fact, events contributed $97 billion to the U.S. GDP in 2018. Protecting and advocating for these powerful business platforms is a critical responsibility, and Exhibitions Day gives event professionals across the county the opportunity to share their voice with our nation’s leaders.

Taking place each June on Capitol Hill, Exhibitions Day offers people the chance to meet directly with Congressional members and address timely issues that are affecting the health and growth of the exhibitions industry. Attendees are welcomed with an orientation session full of information on meeting processes and issue details, followed by a reception to further connect and strategize with one another. The next morning, attendees meet face-to-face with tens of Congressional members from their own states, states in which they currently exhibit, will be exhibiting, and more to ensure the events industry

The sixth annual Exhibitions Day is June 4-5 in Washington D.C. Topics that will be discussed include:

    • Online Booking Scams (R. 2495 and S. 1164)
    • Secure Travel Partnership (H.R. 1996)
    • JOLT Act (R. 2187)
    • Investing in America’s Infrastructure
    • Protecting Brand USA

We’ll be taking a deeper look at each of these issues in our upcoming blogs – stay tuned!
